Full Stack Development

Full stack development is the practice of building both the front end and the back end of a web application. A full stack developer can design what users see in the browser, write the server logic that powers it, and manage the database where its data lives. This end-to-end skill set makes full stack developers some of the most in-demand professionals in the IT industry.
The front end is everything a user interacts with directly: layouts, buttons, forms and pages. It is built with HTML for structure, CSS for styling and JavaScript for interactivity, usually with a framework such as React, Angular or Vue to build fast, reusable interfaces.
The back end runs on the server. It handles business logic, authentication, payments and communication with the database. Popular back-end technologies include Node.js with Express, Java with Spring Boot, Python with Django, and .NET. Data is stored in relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
Developers often learn a complete technology "stack". The MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) uses JavaScript end to end, while the MEAN stack swaps React for Angular. Alongside the stack, a full stack developer works with Git for version control, REST APIs to connect the front end and back end, and cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines to deploy applications.
Learning full stack development opens roles such as Full Stack Developer, Web Developer, Software Engineer and Technical Lead. Because they understand the whole application, full stack developers can build complete products independently, which makes them valuable to startups and large companies alike.
